FINAL PRODUCTS ANALYSIS

With this instrument it is possible to analyze very small objects ( few microns) observing their morphology and acquiring informations about their chemical composition. It is very useful to study the ceramic defects.

CHEMICAL - PHYSICAL TEST IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIRED STANDARD

For example, the Italian standard UNI 4543, describes some tests such as the chemical resistance to acid and basic solutions, the abrasion test, the thermal shock test, the absorption of water, the bending strengh test, and so on. Similar tests are also provided by other standards such as : Australian Standard 1976-1992, UNE 67001, etc..

COLORIMETRIC TEST

This test is used to define, on a fired glaze, the ΔL value (brightness), the Δa value (if , compared to a target, the glaze is more similar to red or green),the Δb value (if the glaze is more similar to blue or yellow).

THERMAL EXPANSION TEST (heating 5 °C/min)

The dilatometer provides the percentage of thermal expansion and the dilatometric coefficient of ceramic materials during the firing phase . It is very interesting in valuating the matching between glaze and body.
